Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies and similar storage technologies Jennyhub uses, why we use them, and how you can control or revoke your consent at any time. It complements our Privacy Policy.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store on your device so it can recognise you on the next visit or remember your choices while you browse. We also use related browser storage technologies — most commonly localStorage and sessionStorage — to remember things like whether you've already liked a post or whether you've already seen the cookie banner.
Categories of cookies we use
1. Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to work and cannot be turned off. They do not store any information that personally identifies you.
- Session (
jennyhub_sid) — keeps your interaction state for the current browser, so a like or share counts once instead of dozens of times, and so the admin login works. Lifetime: up to 1 year, or cleared when you close your browser and accept its cleanup. - Consent (
jh_consent, stored in localStorage) — remembers your choice on the cookie banner so we don't ask again on every visit. Lifetime: 1 year. - CSRF token (server-side session value) — protects forms in the admin area against cross-site request forgery. Created only when the admin signs in.
2. Functional
Help the interface remember your interactions across pages and visits. They do not track you across other sites.
- Post actions (server-side session keys
pa_likes,pa_shares,pa_views,pa_downloads) — remember which posts you have already liked, shared, viewed or downloaded, so the buttons show the correct state when you come back and so views/downloads aren't counted twice for the same visit.
3. Analytics
We may add a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand which mods are popular and how the site performs. The data is aggregated and we cannot use it to identify you. If and when analytics are active, the cookies they set will be listed here.
- None active at the time of writing.
4. Advertising
Jennyhub currently does not serve third-party advertising and does not set any advertising cookies. If this changes in the future, the providers and the cookies they set will be listed here before they go live.
Third-party content
Some elements on the site load content from third-party services. They may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies:
- Telegram — the "Subscribe" / "Telegram" buttons link to our community channel @jennymodhub. Clicking the link opens Telegram's site or app, where Telegram's own cookies and privacy policy apply.
- CDN — static files (mod archives, screenshots, icons)
are served from
jenny-mod.cdn.express. The CDN does not set cookies on thejennyhub.comdomain.
Your choices
When you first visit Jennyhub we show a banner where you can Accept or Reject non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always set because the site cannot work without them.
You can change your mind at any time:
- Clear the
jh_consentvalue in your browser's developer tools to bring the banner back, then make a new choice. - Block or delete cookies through your browser's settings — every major browser provides controls under Settings → Privacy.
- Install a browser extension that blocks third-party scripts (e.g. uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger).
Do Not Track
Most browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal to websites. There is no consistent legal standard for how a site must respond to it, so we treat your choice on the cookie banner as the authoritative signal.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as we add or remove third-party tools. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always show when it was most recently revised.
